Mottaret, at 1700m, is the best placed resort for quickest access to any part of the 3 Valleys and its modern residences offer doorstep skiing. It has its own bars, restaurants and ski schools. Free shuttle buses connect to the attractive resort of Méribel village, a firm favourite with British skiers, with its modern chalets dotted over the wooded hillside, and lively apres ski bars. A record 16 gondolas run from Méribel itself. Both resorts are ideal for intermediates, with plenty for experts too.
